lauren #2

Just a quick fun shoot i did with lauren and Jan (another photographer, he's amazing)

not much to say here.. learning about using the lighting available

it was a cold shoot (by the water at night, YIKES) but i'm pretty excited with the results!

Kim Couture

Shoot number 2 with my new lens

makeup by anne sellery

shot outside my apartment with one light. i don't think i totally captured what i wanted from this shoot, but it still turned out pretty good.. i think a more powerful light, or possibly an over head light would have helped greatly.

still working on the full body stuff.. getting there, just learning how to compose it, AND find the right distance away.. oh right, AND lighting.. lighting full body is a little different. OH and paying attention to POSING.. OH my, theres a lot to learn and i have ALOT farther to go..

so i shoot on!

Lauren Curtis

MY FIRST SHOOT WITH MY NEW CANON 50MM 1.8 how exciting!

Lauren Curtis, you don't get a bad shot with this model. Hair and makeup by Freakishly beautiful

This actually shot at my apartment. i ran extension cords from my deck to this wall on the other side of the building.. It was SOOOO cold but i think it was totally worth it STILL working on the full body.. SO hard!

Actor head shots CONT'

so instead of doing a separate page per actor i just took the best of each we've done so far and grouped them together.

Paul Vituli in the blue shirt and black V-neck (funny behind the scene story, the brown background is actually a LARGE blanket being held up by Anne Seller the MUA and Wonder Russell Pauls GF and actress)

Lisa Coronado with the blue background

D'Angelo Midili White tie

these were all taken with my NEW favorite lens. the canon 50MM 1.8 LOVE IT!

Actor head shots

Actor head shots with Wonder Russell

Anne Sellery and i have started working together ALOT more and decided to go into business taking actors head shots. Wonder was one of our first victims... OF ShynAnneigans!

Myrriah

Myrriah

How excited was i to get her face infront of my camera. Anne Sellery did her makeup and i started testing out the FULL BODY shooting..

Lighting on full body shots, as you can tell, i still need alot of practice!

what have i been up to

I recently shot head shots for an aspiring model from Arizona i believe. She was a good friend of a model friend of mine

she was a pleasure to shoot, way fun.

shoot number #2 with Julie

I shot with Julie a while back, she was my first MODEL that i shot. I was shooting friends, and my son before her to get familiar with my camera.

We went shopping together after talking about a few concepts we liked and based our concept around a few EPIC pairs of sunglasses.

This is one of my favorite shoots so far.. i think this one is what boosted my confidence as a photographer. I'm incredibly happy with how everything turned out and i LOVE shooting her. She's an amazing model, every shoot i've worked her on she spends days before the shoot contacting me, sending me photos of wardrobe, makeup ideas, hair styles, etc. so when we shoot everything just falls into place.

Putting my lighting lesson to good use!

After a FANTASTIC and informational lighting lesson with Jan (Allklier photography) i had a friend and fellow makeup artist Anne Sellery collaborate on a shoot. (anne is a badass BTW)

We had a model come shoot with us that i had worked with in the past Natalya, who was fantastic and amazing to work with, i could not have asked for a better model!!!

I shot head shots, i love shooting head shots :)

I have to tell ya though, having someone else do the makeup on my shoots when i'm photographing is SO MUCH BETTER then having to do it all myself! :)

Lighting lesson with Jan

Lighting lesson with Jan (Allklier Photography)
one of the amazing photographers i work with agreed to give me a quick lesson in lighting. We had SMG model Shawn Herbold come out and i did the makeup before our session.

These were the shots that i took with the set up Jan used.

Jan showed me how to look at a photo and figure out where the light was coming from and what type of lighting was used. It was an INCREDIBLY useful lesson and i'm very thankful to have gotten it as a recent photo shoot i had with D'Angelo Midili turned out to be rather frustrating for me since i didn't even know where to begin!

Head shots at SPA

Anna Kharitonova Model

Two soft boxes, white background, and a great little model. These were the head shots i created on thursday night at SPA.

very minimal touch ups done on lightroom, light/contrast/color tweaking but thats about it.

Don't really have much to say on these, except i'm very happy with how they came out.

Head shots anyone?

The amazing, the wonderful Natasha Sims was in town (Seattle) for the holidays and booked me for a head shot photo session. I think i'm up to 8 or 9 shoots now so i think they went over very well.

After learning a great lighting set up by andrew ness, i used the bounce card "method" to shoot.

Full hair and makeup was done by myself,
as well as all the editing which was done in lightroom.

Head shots, i strongly believe, should LOOK like the person in real life. So most corrections (not that there were alot) were done with makeup and lighting then a few adjustments in contrast, color, etc done in light room.

I really enjoy doing head shots, something about the face strikes my fancy and i'm thinking i might explore this medium further..
